Outings and Picnic
Note: Only Riverwoods Members are eligible to participate in RNPS Outings and Picnic.

A Black & White Outing and Workshop to view Ansel Adams' exhibit at the Lakewood Discovery Museum on Route 176 near Wauconda, IL.
We will meet at the Museum Saturday, October 15, 2011, at 10:00 AM for a self-guided tour of Adams' 70 prints. Admission is $6/ $3 for Seniors.
At 11:30 AM a Black & White mini-workshop will be held on the grounds. Matt Plofsky will give a short presentation on using Adams' concepts and tips for shooting monochromes, followed by group photography of the grounds with the intention of showing B&W versions of the images taken during the club Holiday party.
The Group will gather at a local restaurant (to be determined) for lunch.

Photographing the Sandhill Crane Migration
Join us for an overnight outing to Jasper-Pulaski Fish and Wildlife Refuge near Medaryville, Indiana, Saturday and Sunday, November 12-13, 2011 to photograph the Sandhill Crane migration as they head south.
The group will meet at the observation deck between 4:00-4:30 PM at the viewing fields for evening shots, possibly against a sunset, as the thousands of cranes come in to roost for the night.
Our overnight stay will be at Comfort Inn in Hebron, about 45 minutes away. With dinner will be at a restaurant in Hebron.
The group will return to the observation deck again on Sunday morning about 6:00 AM for the best photography with sun lighting up the birds as they fly by to forage in fields.
Late breakfast with the whole group will be at IHOP in Merrillville, Indiana.
With a trip to Indiana Dunes is tentatively planned for the afternoon enroute back to Chicago.
